Will Brooke is a candidate for the Republican nomination for the open Congressional seat representing the 6th District in Alabama.

Will’s experience includes over 25 years of building businesses and leadership in the work for fair, honest government, including the rule of law, a fair judiciary, tort reform, education reform and stronger ethics in government.

  • Graduate of the University of Alabama, where he received degrees in business and law.
  • Current Executive Vice President and Managing Partner for Harbert Management Corporation, responsible for its venture capital funds.
  • In 2011, Chaired the Business Council of Alabama, when ethics reform, tenure reform, public pension reform, tort reform, state budget reform and numerous pieces of important conservative legislation were passed by the Alabama Legislature.
  • Member of the board of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama and the University of Alabama’s Entrepreneurship Institute.
  • Promoted to Harbert Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer, and in 1993 co-founded Harbert Management Firm.
  • Deeply involved in the successful efforts to reform the Alabama Supreme Court in the 1990′s.
  • Chairman of ProgressPAC in 2010, the same year the Alabama Legislature elected its first Republican majority in over 100 years.
  • Appointed to the Alabama Innovation Council in 2009, and served as Chairman of the Council, which issued a comprehensive report on steps needed to grow Alabama’s innovation economy.
  • Practiced law in Birmingham, Alabama for over a decade prior to taking the General Counsel position with Harbert Corporation.
Will and his wife, Maggie, have been engaged for decades in civic activity in Alabama, and are known for their leadership in charitable activities in the Birmingham area.
  • Will was instrumental in the formation and organization of the Business Education Alliance, aimed at improving education policy statewide.
  • Will and Maggie are actively involved with the United Way of Central Alabama.
  • He served as Chairman of the Birmingham Science Center Exploratory Committee, which led to the formation of the McWane Science Center in 1999.
  • He also helped organize the Mountain Brook Education Foundation and served as its Chairman.
  • Will’s wife, Maggie, has served for years as a member of the Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Alabama and the Alabama Area Alliance of the Boys and Girls Clubs, chairing each of those organizations.
  • Maggie also serves as a member of the board of the YWCA of Central Alabama.
Passionate about his family and faith, Will and Maggie have been married for 34 years and are the proud parents of 3 children.
  • Active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Homewood, where Will has served over the years as a children’s and adult Sunday School teacher, and as a Deacon, Trustee and Elder.
  • Will is a Rotarian, a member of Leadership Alabama, the Society of International Business Fellows and the Federalist Society
  • Will also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Church Resource Ministries, which sponsors some 400 missionaries around the world.
  • An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Will is an active hunter and fisherman.
